There are a number of business referral networking groups in Winnipeg, including 7 chapters of the BNI Network. The BNI Accelerators of Winnipeg call themselves the best business referral group in the city, and it’s easy to show why they might just be correct.

In 2021, this dynamic, small business referral network group of 24 business owners passed over 850 referrals to each other, and generated over $1.1 Million Dollars in closed, verified business.

This business group allows one member per profession, which eliminates competition among it’s members, and instead fosters an environment of support and collaboration. This is the time of year when we recognize the top producers of the chapter. Everything a member does to contribute to the chapter is counted and scored.

Recognition is given for ‘Most Referrals Given”, “Most Dollar Value generated” (referrals that turn into legitimate business for other members), Most Visitors Brought and Highest Chapter Accountability Tracking score.

Most Referrals Given during the year

The top three spots were a tight race between

Most Dollar Value Generated

This is the dollar value each member generated for others. It is NOT how much that member made in profit….as the group does not keep track of the members earnings. That is kept confidential. But they like to know how much each member produced for others. As you can see, the top 2 spots were a tight race again this year. Bo and Darcy have a friendly rivalry going, with 2nd place finisher having to buy a drink for the winner. (Darcy doesn’t know this yet)

Most Visitors Brought

Visitors are important to a chapter, as they could turn into members, or even into customers for other chapter members.

Highest C.A.T. score

Pretty much everything a member does to contribute to the welfare of a chapter is counted, measured and assigned a point value. The result is called a CAT-score. Chapter Accountability Tracking score. This is all automated, and a good score is 100 for the year. Here the top 6 are listed, with Dave Allen of Southend Roofing making the list as well.

Currently the BNI Accelerators have 24 active members. BNI has identified 5 different ‘Power Teams’ .… groups of businesses which serve the same customer in supporting roles. For example, a home buyer, in their quest to purchase a home, may need to use the following services

These and other related businesses belong into the Home Services Power Team. So when a mortgage broker starts working with a new home buyer, the broker will likely be able to make referrals to the real estate agent, and others within the group.
